Since 1996, TradeWinds Restaurant has been a local staple in Niceville, Florida. Everyday, we buy our fresh fish locally. Our kitchen crew prepares fresh ingredients each day, cooked to order each night. TradeWinds is basically an Italian restaurant serving chicken, veal, seafood, pasta and pizza along with grilled steaks and veal chops (no baked potatoes!) and weekend specials. What started out as a sandwich and beer brewers hang out, has now grown into a favorite, Italian, casual, eclectic, noisy-when-busy, open kitchen restaurant.
On October 5, 2014, Tom D’Eufemia, “the man” of TradeWinds Restaurant left his life here on earth. Tradewinds was Tom’s life’s passion which was fueled by his Italian Aunt Nettie who fed him and taught him how to cook Italian food. Tom created a place where people came to share his love of food, wine, beer and most importantly, endless friendships. When anyone dined at TradeWinds, you ate at Tom’s table and drank out of his wine glasses. He not only treated you like his family, but you became family. His passion was contagious to all who met him even if it was just for a moment’s time. Tom started out as “the cook” for his golf buddies on the weekends. Gradually the business snowballed into something Niceville must have wanted and needed.
Although the food and the business
have developed beyond Tom’s expectations, through the dedication of our
head chef and Tom’s wife and all the TradeWinds family of employees,
TradeWinds will continue. Tom has laid the groundwork for his legacy. A pair of Toms’ shoes sits by the front door that absolutely no one will ever be able to fill.
TradeWinds prides itself on their
"regulars" and the families, friends and snowbirds who return again and
again to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, marriages and other special
occasions. Come in and enjoy Tom’s heart and soul, a place where
success was built on consistent quality food, great employees, lively
atmosphere and a personal touch.
I would like to thank all those people who have continued to support the restaurant since the passing of my husband. We have so many wonderful customers that truly have helped me get through this difficult time. Although there will never be another Tom, we are working hard to continue the business in the same manner it has always served the community. My husband would not have wanted it any other way.
